How a social media ban would have changed my teens
Commentator, BBC World Service
Listen
Context
I joined BBC World Service's What in the World as a commentator on Australia's under-16 social media ban.
The conversation was about what the ban would actually do to young people, especially culturally diverse and African diaspora kids who already struggle to see themselves in Australian media.
What I do
- Spoke from the research and from growing up African in Australia.
- Talked about belonging, identity, and who gets a place to be seen.
